healthy one-bowl meals

Looking for some delicious, nutritious new recipes? You can’t do better than this colorful selection of healthy one-bowl meals.

Vanessa Perrone is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and one of our favorite healthy living RDNs that we discovered via Twitter. Among her nutritional beliefs:

  • “getting back to basics in the kitchen with a real food approach that embraces nutrient-packed, minimally processed, whole foods.”
  • “switching off auto-pilot-eating, tuning-in to your body’s needs and getting true satisfaction from your food (finally).”

She defines real food as:

  • Minimally processed
  • Made of single or few ingredients
  • Made without artificial sweeteners, preservatives, dyes or flavours

Her site offers many excellent recipes, but this is the one that caught our eye on Twitter:  Top 9 Healthy Superbowls. It offers 9 one-bowl recipes combining a healthy balance of high-fiber carbs, lean protein, healthy fats and veggies. The image in our post comes from one of her videos, but her photos are much more enticing – click on each appetizing photo for video recipes and a list of ingredients. Each of her recipes is focused on her Fullness Formula of fiber + protein + fat + color for sustained energy, fullness and satisfaction.
